Sportsmanship Policy

Updated June 2025

The PSL stands united behind the principles of respect, inclusion, and acceptance, and we welcome all persons regardless of race, ethnicity, color, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, age, disability, veteran status, or national origins. The PSL is dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and fun atmosphere while striving to provide a high quality recreational experience for all participants; we place a high priority on sportsmanship and expect it to be displayed throughout our leagues and events at all times. While we do celebrate and encourage competitive play, we are a recreational league; having fun and maintaining good sportsmanship within the competition is of the utmost importance, and all current and future PSL participants should keep this in mind when registering for a PSL team, league, event, activity, or tournament.

Unsportsmanlike behavior includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Verbal or physical abuse of an official or another individual before, during, or after a PSL game or match, activity, event, or tournament

  • Any harassment of another individual, including online harassment

  • Use of slurs or other offensive gestures or language that is racially, ethnically, gender, or other identity-motivated

  • Taunting, mocking, trash talking, baiting, or intimidating an official or another individual

  • Any words or actions that negatively impact the inclusive and welcoming atmosphere at PSL games and event

  • Fighting, pushing or shoving, and dangerous and/or excessive physical play

  • Lying or misrepresenting your identity

  • Throwing or abusing equipment

PSL staff will handle each instance of unsportsmanlike behavior individually and accordingly. For more information you can view PSL’s Ejection Policy.

We appreciate your love for the game, and your dedication to helping us attain a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and fun atmosphere. Be kind, have fun, play hard!
